Tiger Bone Wine is a traditional Chinese medicinal liquor, made by soaking tiger bone and other Chinese medicinal herbs in a sorghum liquor base. Its origins can be traced back to the Han Dynasty, and it was documented in Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica" during the Ming Dynasty. In the 1970s and 80s, it was primarily produced by state-owned pharmaceutical factories (such as Li Shizhen Pharmaceutical Wine Factory, Beijing Tong Ren Tang, Wuhan Ma Ying Long, etc.). In 1993, due to tigers being an endangered species, China completely banned the use of tiger bones in medicine, and all production of tiger bone wine ceased from that year onwards.
Legal Disclaimer: All tiger bone wine resold by Chunxiang Wine Merchants consists of aged stock legally produced before the 1993 ban, complying with local old liquor market regulations. We do not buy any "newly produced" or "privately brewed" tiger bone wine, nor do we assist with cross-border transportation.
