  2. Bottle cap shape: Large metal cover (more than 2.5 cm high) = old version; short plastic cover with LVMH security code = current version.
  3. Redwood box/card box: The old version of the mahogany box with complete copper buckle can add 15-25%; the current green paper box with complete version can add 5-10%.
  4. fill level location: Between the neck and the shoulders is normal; if it falls below the shoulders, it means "lost alcohol", and there will be a deduction of about 8-15% for each square dropped.

Appraisal Key Point

The bottom of the authentic bottle is stamped with the LVMH group logo and the production code (usually four digits plus letters). The current version of the back label has a laser security code that reads "Hennessy" when illuminated with a purple light. Common flaws in imitation products: rough seams on metal caps, thick fonts on wine labels, and blurred molding on the bottom of the bottle. It is recommended to take three photos of the bottle cap, the laser code on the back label, and the bottom of the bottle for us to make a preliminary judgment.

Depending on the condition, the old version of "Big Gold Head XO" comes complete with a mahogany box, and the buyback value is generally 1.5 to 2 times that of the current new version with a green box. If the back label is still in pure English without barcode, and the paper has a sense of age, it can even be 2.5 times higher.

Hennessy XO Is the mahogany box rotten?

Slight scratches on the wooden box will have limited impact; if the lock is broken, the cloth lining is perforated, or the wood grain is cracked, the buyback premium will shrink from 20% to 5–10%, but the bare bottle itself will still be charged at market price.
