Kweichow Moutai is produced by the Kweichow Kweichow Moutai distillery in Moutai Town, Renhuai City, Guizhou Province. It uses red tassel sorghum and local wheat as raw materials and adopts the "12987" traditional process (1-year production cycle, 2 feedings, 9 cookings, 8 fermentations, and 7 wine extractions). It must be aged for at least 5 years before bottling. Moutai is a representative of the sauce-aroma baijiu, and is also the designated wine for the state banquet of the People's Republic of China. In 1915, he won the gold medal at the Panama International Exposition and established his international reputation.

Very valuable. In the 1980s, "iron-cap Moutai" (metal iron-cap design, plastic cover was used after 1986) complete with paper box, pure Chinese back label, and fill level reaching the shoulder. It is a high-end hot search among Moutai collectors, and the buyback value is much higher than the current version.
The longer the aging period, the higher the buyback value. The 30-year-old wine is the main force in the market, and its circulation is relatively stable; the 50-year-old wine is a high-end commemorative edition, complete with a special gift box, and carries a significant premium; the 80-year-old wine is high-end and limited edition, with very little circulation in the second-hand market.
The annual circulation of Moutai is about 10,000 pieces. Even if the gift box is complete and stored properly, the annual appreciation is about 8-15%. Early zodiac animals (such as Horse in 2014 and Sheep in 2015) have higher premiums due to smaller circulation.
Depends on the decline. Moutai belongs to baijiu (high alcohol content). Slight drop in liquid (within half a centimeter) is normal aging, and the value will be deducted by about 8–12%. A drop of liquid of more than 1 cm reflects the deterioration of the sealing performance of the bottle stopper, with a deduction of 20–30%.
