Pricing logic for discontinued old wine
- Characteristics of discontinued years: In the 1980s, Cordon Bleu was the earliest Napoleon, with the highest buyback premium; in the 1990s, the special grade was slightly inferior; after 2005, it was almost extinct.
- Bottle glass mold marks: The glass of the old version is thicker and there are manual polishing marks on the shoulder of the bottle, while the new version is machine pressed flat.
- Original mahogany box: 1980s Cordon Bleu mahogany box with copper buckle, complete with cloth lining, 15–20% added.
- The completeness of the joint version: Cohiba co-branded product comes with a cigar storage compartment and paper instructions, otherwise the price will drop sharply.
Old version identification
The original blue horizontal band printing has a mercerized feel (reflective when viewed at a 45-degree angle), while the imitation is matte printing. The Swift logo on the bottom of the bottle is stamped with the words Martell. For the Cohiba co-branded version, please check whether the serial number card matches the bottle number. It is recommended to take four photos of the bottle body, Cordon Bleu close-up (45-degree reflective), the bottom of the bottle, and the copper buckle of the mahogany box.
Napoleon buyback process
Since the Martell Napoleon series has been discontinued and each unit is out of print, it is recommended that the mahogany box, cloth lining, and paper instructions be included in the valuation. Martell Napoleon Is production tight?
The mainstream market has been out of production for many years, and now it can only be circulated in the second-hand market, auction houses, and private collectors. Market scarcity is the main source of premium.
How does How do Martell Cordon Bleu and Cordon Bleu Napoleon differ?
The two are different product lines. Cordon Bleu is still in production and is a regular flagship; Blue Cordon Napoleon is the Napoleon level from the 1980s to 1990s and has been discontinued. The bottle design is completely different from the packaging.
How much does the Cohiba collaboration cost?
The Cohiba cigar co-branded Napoleon comes complete with a gift box. The buyback value is about 1.8-2.5 times that of a standard Napoleon. The premium for the cigars together (if untouched) is even higher.
